SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday met legislators, vice chancellors and several delegations at the Civil Secretariat, where he reviewed a broad range of issues related to regional development, public welfare, higher education, healthcare and infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir.
A delegation of Members of the Legislative Assembly, including Javid Iqbal (Budhal), Muzaffar Iqbal Khan (Thanamandi), Choudhary Mohammed Akram (Surankote) and Iftikhar Ahmed (Rajouri), called on the Chief Minister and raised various developmental and public welfare concerns pertaining to the Pir Panjal region.
MLA Kulgam MY Tarigami and MLA Shopian Shabir Ahmad Kullay also separately met the Chief Minister and apprised him of issues concerning their respective constituencies.
MLA Budgam Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi discussed the overall situation in Budgam and matters relating to preparations for Muharram 2026.
Vice Chancellor of Cluster University Srinagar Prof Mohammad Mobin briefed the Chief Minister on recent progress and developmental initiatives undertaken by the university, while Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir Prof A. Ravinder Nath apprised him of academic and infrastructural advancements at the institution.
Director of Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Prof Mohammad Ashraf Ganie also met the Chief Minister and discussed key issues and ongoing developments concerning the institute.
Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Construction Company Arjun Dhawan briefed the Chief Minister on various infrastructure projects currently being executed by the company in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister assured all delegations of responsive governance and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development, strengthening public institutions and addressing public concerns effectively.
