Speaking to reporters, Abdullah said those who believe the alliance is solely for electoral purposes should reconsider. “The alliance was formed to combat hatred within India and promote unity.”

Addressing recent remarks by NC MP Aga Rahullah, who said that Omar Abdullah was perceived as a “Centre’s man,” Dr Abdullah dismissed the allegation, affirming that Omar Abdullah is a leader for the people and not acting under anyone’s directives.

“Let him say what he thinks. But Omar Abdullah is the people’s Chief Minister. He is not working on anyone’s directives. Do you want that we should fight with the Centre,” he told reporters.

He added that while the National Conference is not aligned with the BJP, it must work with the central government to ensure the development of Jammu and Kashmir, including the construction of schools and hospitals.

Commenting on reports of a BSF Commandant accused in a paper scam seeking to join the National Conference, Abdullah clarified that he was unaware of the allegations. He said that the individual cannot join the party unless cleared of the charges. (With KINS Inputs)
