SRINAGAR: The Special Crime Wing Kashmir of the Crime Branch JK conducted a search at the residence of a serving police constable in Safakadal, Srinagar, on Friday as part of an investigation into alleged forgery of documents used to secure an appointment in the JK Police Department.
The search was carried out at the residence of SG Constable Manzoor Ahmad Najar in connection with FIR No. 10/2026, registered under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the RPC, the Crime Branch said.
According to the agency, the search followed a warrant issued by the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate (PT and E), Srinagar.
The case concerns allegations that documents relating to date of birth and educational qualifications were forged and submitted in connection with securing the appointment.
The Crime Branch said the search was conducted in accordance with due procedure and that further investigation was continuing.
