Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) on Monday said that its incarcerated chairperson cannot attend 43rd general session of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) being held in Tashkent Uzbekistan.
OIC had invited Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi and other resistance leaders to attend the 43rd Session of “The Council of Foreign Ministers” (CFM) meet as the “true” representatives of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued here this evening, the secretary general of DeM, Nahida Nasreen said, “since the government of India has put a ban on the movement of its chairperson and other resistance leaders, therefore, it is impossible for them to travel to Tashkent and attend the meet of foreign ministers of OIC. Besides, all the leaders have been detained at different places.”
However, Nahida asked the OIC to use its highest offices and impress upon the world community to “take note of worst human rights violations being perpetuated in Kashmir by India and her stooges”.
The 43rd session of Foreign Ministers of OIC will begin in Uzbek capital Tashkent tomorrow.
According to OIC Secretariat, around one hundred and nine resolutions on different issues including Jammu and Kashmir would be taken up for discussion.
“We ask the OIC to use its offices across the world to stress upon India to accept the Kashmir as a disputed territory and let the people of Kashmir determine their future by exercising right to self-determination (RSD). India has been crippling our space so that the genuine voices from Kashmir are suppressed,” she said.
Nasreen also asked Pakistan to fight for the Kashmir cause as a party to the dispute and not as its advocate.
“We ask the government in Pakistan to firm its resolve to fight for the freedom of Kashmir. However, Pakistan should make it sure that they fight for the rights of Kashmiris as a party to the dispute and not as its advocate,” she observed. “Takmeel-e-Pakistan is only possible when Jammu and Kashmir completely amalgamates with that country.”
“People of that country have paid huge price for the Kashmir cause and since the people of Kashmir have mobilized themselves, the government and people of Pakistan should launch a strong campaign worldwide for the resolution of Kashmir issue,” she added.
The OIC meeting will also discuss situation in Syria, Yemen, Libya, Mali, Somalia, Afghanistan, and the Republic of Central Africa in addition to the issues of Muslim communities in non-OIC member states, particularly in Myanmar.
