According to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Khan, there was no curfew imposed in any part of Kashmir valley on Tuesday though restrictions were imposed in five old city Police Stations of Srinagar.

Meanwhile, according to a statement issued by the Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir, few incidents of stone pelting were reported from some areas of Srinagar, Islamabad, Sopore and Handwara.

“At these places, miscreants assembled on the roads and attempted to disturb the normal traffic and movement of people by pelting stones on vehicles, police and the security forces deployments,” he said.

The spokesman said while dealing with the situation in village Seer Hamdan, Islamabad “where a mob of around 1500 had gathered and started stone pelting on Police and disrupting peace, some persons got injured by pellets of whom one person Naseer Ahmad Mir resident of Seer Hamdan succumbed to his injuries and another lady Mst Jameela stands admitted in SKIMS Soura for treatment”.

Div Com Reviews Stock, Supply Position In Valley

The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan Tuesday chaired a meeting of officers to review the stock and supply position of essential commodities in Valley here.

Directing the concerned to designate a Nodal Officer to monitor the delivery of essential supplies to the consumers well in time before the Eid festival, the Divisional Commissioner also asked the concerned to make sure the supply of essential commodities especially LPG to every corner of the valley in a proper manner for the convenience of people, the official spokesperson said.

The Divisional Commissioner asked the representatives of various oil companies for ensuring that oil tankers should cross the Jawahar Tunnel before 9 AM so that they could reach to their destinations well in time.

The Director FCS&CA informed the meeting that there is adequate stock of essential commodities including rice, Atta, sugar LPG, Petrol Diesel and K-oil in Valley and the ration would be distributed among rationees well before the festival.

The meeting was attended by Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Kashmir, SP Traffic, representatives of various oil companies besides other concerned officers of line departments.
