SRINAGAR: A central Kashmir court convicted four persons for criminal tresspass and outraging modesty of a houseiwfe. One of teh accused will spend a yaer in jail and pay a fine to the victim.

The case (FIR 14 of 2016), apparently a dispute between the residents, was investigated by the Jammu and Kashmir Police at Kheerbawanl under sections 364, 323, 447 RPC.

Umi Kulsoom, the Chief Judicial Megistrate, Ganderbal, has awarded a year long imprisonment to the princiapl accused Bashir Ahmed Bhat U/S 354 RPC, for outraging the modesty of the wife of the complainant   and fined him to the tune of Rs 5000.

All the accused persons including Bhat were also convicted for offences under sections 323 – for six months, and 447 RPC – for two months. They were also fined Rs 2000 each. All the punishmnets shall shall run concurrently.

The incident, according to Directorate of Prosecution has taken place on April 14, 2016, when teh accused barged into the complaints resiudence, beat him and tore the clothes of his wife. Police have establsashed the accusations on basis of which the punishments were awarded. The case was handled by Additional Public Prosecutor CMJ Court Ganderbal, Iftikhar Ul Hassan.
