The meeting was attended by the Administrator of Associated Hospitals, heads of departments, faculty members, resident doctors, and staff members, who paid rich tributes to the late professor and recalled his distinguished career in medicine and academics.

Prof. Dhar completed his MBBS from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, obtained a Diploma in Public Health (DPH) from the All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health, Calcutta, and later earned his MD from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow.

Over the course of his career, Prof. Dhar served as Professor and Head of the Department of Community Medicine at several leading institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, including GMC Srinagar, SKIMS Srinagar, JVC Medical Sciences Srinagar, and ASCOMS Jammu. He also held important administrative positions as Health Officer of Srinagar Municipality and as State Malariologist and Joint Director at SKIMS.

Known widely for his scholarship and commitment to public health, Prof. Dhar made significant contributions to national and international medical journals and served on various editorial boards. In 2006, he co-authored the textbook “Foundations of Community Medicine” with I.
