In a statement issued from New Delhi, Karan Singh urged Wangchuk to resume a normal diet, warning that continuing the prolonged fast could endanger his life.

Wangchuk has been on an indefinite hunger strike for the past 18 days and has maintained that the government should agree to hold talks.

According to fellow protesters, Wangchuk’s health has deteriorated significantly during the fast. They claimed he has lost 8.5 kilograms, is suffering from muscle loss and remains in “immense pain”.

Meanwhile, protesters from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) have been staging a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi for the past 26 days, raising allegations of irregularities in the NEET examination.

Karan Singh’s appeal comes amid growing concerns over Wangchuk’s health as his indefinite fast continues.
