SRINAGAR: Four floors of the Amarnath Shrine Board’s Office and Yatri Niwas at Pantha Chowk have been completed, with the remaining two floors expected to be ready by the end of June, officials informed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha during his on-site inspection on Sunday.

During his visit to the construction site in Srinagar, the Lieutenant Governor reviewed the ongoing development work and stressed the importance of timely completion of the project. He directed officials to expedite the pending work to ensure better facilities for pilgrims ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra.
The Lieutenant Governor interacted with senior officials overseeing the project and called for efficient coordination among departments to avoid any delay. “Pilgrim convenience must be the top priority,” he stated, while assessing the current status of the site.
The inspection was attended by Mandeep K Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor and CEO of the Amarnath Shrine Board; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar; and other senior officers.
The Amarnath Shrine Board’s Office and Yatri Niwas are being developed as part of infrastructure upgrades to support the annual pilgrimage, which sees lakhs of devotees travelling to the Himalayan shrine each year.
