SRINAGAR: SWAYAM, (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) is a programme initiated by the Government of India to promote online learning and increase the accessibility of courses for students.

The candidates can apply anytime, as the applications remain open throughout the year.

These online courses are taught by professors from the most prestigious universities across India and are produced and developed under national coordinates to ensure the best quality content.

Nine National Coordinators that have been appointed to facilitate the courses include :

AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) for self-paced and international courses

NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) for Engineering

UGC (University Grants Commission) for non technical post-graduation education

CEC (Consortium for Educational Communication) for under-graduate education

NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) for school education

NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) for school education

IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) for out-of-school students

IIMB (Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore) for management studies

NITTTR (National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research) for Teacher Training programme

The courses will offer a video lecture, reading material, quizzes, weekly assignments and an online discussion forum. The courses offered are from school to post-graduate level.

The courses will be free of cost, however, if you want a certificate, you have to register for the final exam that comes at a fee and attend in person at designated centres on specified dates.

There are no eligibility criteria, anyone can apply.
