SRINAGAR: The NHR Graduate School in Germany has announced the opening of applications for its prestigious 2026 PhD scholarship programme, offering international students the opportunity to pursue structured doctoral studies at some of Germany’s leading universities. The deadline for submission is September 15, 2025.
Under the scholarship, selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of €2,200 to cover their living and academic expenses for a duration of up to 36 months. The programme provides expert academic supervision, career mentoring, and access to cutting-edge computational resources through the national network of NHR (National High Performance Computing) centres.
Participating universities include renowned institutions such as RWTH Aachen, Technische Universität Darmstadt, University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, University of Göttingen, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Technische Universität Dresden, Berlin University Alliance, University of Paderborn, University of Frankfurt am Main, RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, University of Mainz, and Universität des Saarlandes.
The NHR programme offers a wide range of benefits beyond financial support, including advanced training sessions, skill-building workshops, secondment opportunities at other NHR centres, and international networking. Graduates will be awarded a prestigious European PhD degree upon completion.
Applicants must hold a valid Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in computer science, mathematics, engineering, natural sciences or a closely related field. They are also required to meet the specific admission criteria of the host NHR institution where they intend to pursue their doctorate.
To apply, candidates must submit a completed application form, a motivation letter, curriculum vitae, proposed research outline, academic transcripts, a valid English proficiency certificate (IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent), one recommendation letter, and a copy of their passport.
