SRINAGAR: Ahead of Prime minster Narendra  Modi’s visit to Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, the government  have issued to prohibit flying of aviation devices in the district.

District Magistrate Saloni Rai issued the directive, invoking Section 144 of the CrPC to ensure enhanced security measures during the Prime Minister’s public address scheduled for 12/04/2024.

The decision comes in response to evolving security concerns, particularly related to the potential misuse of drones as improvised explosive devices by anti-national elements.

The order, effective immediately, prohibits the flying of all aviation devices, including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), drones, and balloons, within Udhampur district boundaries.

It will remain enforced until 12/04/2024 at 5:00 PM. The Senior Superintendent of Police for Udhampur is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the ban to ensure strict compliance.
