Speaking to reporters, Abdullah said he had discussed the growing incidents of harassment and appealed to all Chief Ministers and the Union Home Minister to ensure the safety of Kashmiri students and traders outside the Union Territory.

He expressed gratitude to the Uttarakhand Chief Minister for taking swift action in recent cases, including the registration of FIRs and arrests. However, he voiced concern over similar incidents reported from Himachal Pradesh and urged the state government to take immediate corrective steps.

The Chief Minister also said that the recent reduction in United States tariffs would provide much-needed relief to Indian exporters who had been struggling due to higher trade duties.

On the Union Budget, Abdullah declined to comment, stating that he would reserve his views for discussion inside the Assembly. “I will speak on the budget only inside the House,” he said.

Commenting on the debate over sporting ties with Pakistan, Abdullah said sports and politics should not be mixed, particularly in the context of India–Pakistan matches.
