Amid tension and anger of common people over the latest cap on LPG, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde is scheduled to chair a meeting of the unified headquarters tomorrow in Srinagar to discuss about the security to PRI representatives and review the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Shinde arrived on a three day visit of the state on Friday morning. He was received at the Jammu airport by Minister of State for Home Nasir Aslam Wani, Director General of Police Ashok Prasad, senior officers of paramilitary forces and the provincial administration.

Home minister directly headed to Poonch district in a BSF chopper and visited Chakan-Da-Bagh, a crossing point for travel and trade between the two sides of Line of Control (LOC), official sources said.

He met a delegation of traders and discussed their problems. The delegation presented a memorandum to Shinde.

Home Minister is scheduled to fly to Suchetgarh forward area in R S Pura border belt in Jammu district where he will review the security situation at Border Posts.

Shinde will also take stock of the situation prevailing at the International Border in Jammu sector, especially in the backdrop of a 550 meters long tunnel connecting Pakistan and India being uncovered at Chechwal in Samba sector.

He will meet several local delegations, including one from the Congress party, in the circuit house before his departure to the Kashmir Valley.

This is Shinde’s second visit to J&K since he took over as the Home Minister. He made his maiden tour to the state by visiting Leh and Kargil towns last week.
