SRINAGAR: International Monetary Fund (IMF) has opened application for Fund Internship Programme (FIP) for Economics and Law graduates. The application process for this paid internship continues between December-January every year. The internship stake place between June and October and run for 10-12 weeks.

Students should have excellent command over written and oral English. It gives students the opportunity to work with an experienced IMF colleague besides a chance to get their work published by the IMF. The internship location is Washington DC. International students are eligible to apply, but they will need a G-4 visa.

For internship in economics, if a student is pursuing PhD, the age of the students must be below 32-years at the start of internship and if a student is pursuing Master’s, the age must be below 28.

For internship in law department, student must be within one to two years of completing an LLM, JD, or equivalent advanced degree in law. The age of the applicant must be below 32-years at the commencement of the internship.

IMF pays $50,000 (4,06,575 INR) monthly to its interns and provides medical insurance cover. They do not provide any accommodation.

The initial selection will be based on application. Selected candidates will be called for interview. The documents required for application are CV/ Resume, Cover letter, University transcripts and two academic reference letters.
