J&K Bank in a joint exercise with agriculture department Baramulla at Hamray, Pattan. organised a financial literacy camp. The camp witnessed large participation of farmers from villages of Hamray and Chanderhama.

Facilitator FLCC Baramulla deliberated upon the main features of the KCC Scheme like eligibility, fixation of credit limits, validity, renewal, security, interest subvention and other related features for the awareness of the audience.

He spoke about employment generation schemes, education loan, trade loans and consumption loan schemes of the banks. Importance of budgeting and savings and investing in various savings plans of the banks for better future were also deliberated.

He also spoke about Customer rights under fair lending practices code and need to repay loan in time.
Present on the occasion, Agriculture Officer Pattan thanked the participants for sparing their time in extremely cold conditions and explained in detail the facilities being provided by the department in the area to the farming community.

He spoke about Kissan Credit Card and its objectives which mainly include empowering farmers for meeting cultivation needs including purchase of inputs thus eliminating the role of Artees and middleman in the business.

During the camp, KCC cards were distributed among the farmers of Hamray and Chanderhama.

Bandipora

FLCC Centre Bandipora organised various awareness camps in collaboration with District Agriculture Department. The camps were conducted at villages namely Onagam, Quil, Mangnipora, Malangam, Malangam, Kema, Aloosa, Binilipora, Ashtangoo and Kehnusa.

The camps saw participation of large gatherings of people who were made aware about the various products particularly Kissan Credit Card Scheme.

Facilitator FLCC Bandipore spoke at length about the KCC Scheme and its benefits for the farming community.  The Bank’s Lead Bank Officer (LBO) also attended these camps and discussed in detail the role of Lead Bank.

He said that the government sponsored schemes besides other products of the banks are designed to help the unemployed youth to start their own ventures.
