With a view to make people belonging to different segments of state economy aware about the basics of banking and finance, J&K Bank organised various financial literacy camps in Kupwara and Ganderbal.

Kupwara Camps

The Bank’s Financial Literacy and Credit Counseling (FLCC) center Kupwara organised an awareness camp at Khumriyal in collaboration with J&K Bank RSETI Kupwara.

Director RSETI Kupwara discussed the role of J&K Bank in establishing the Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI’s) in every district of J&k to eradicate the unemployment in rural areas by nurturing the values of entrepreneurship among the local youth.

Facilitator FLCC gave a detailed account of products and the services offered by the financial institutions.

He explained to the audience features of small savings schemes besides Kissan Credit Cards, SKEWPY and other sponsored schemes for unemployed youth for establishment of different employment and income generating units.

In collaboration with J&K Grameen Bank at Reddie Chowkibal, FLCC organised a financial literacy camp, which was attended by a good number of farmers, businessmen, senior citizens and other locals from the area. Representatives of all the line departments and the officials of J&K Grameen Bank and NABARD also participated.

Facilitator FLCC Kupwara apprised the audiences about the concept and purpose of the camp and educated them about the importance and the advantages of money management, saving with the banks. He also explained the benefits of borrowing from the banks.

Ganderbal camps

The bank’s FLCC Ganderbal organised many financial literacy camps across the district.

The camps were conducted this month at Haran, Ripur, Chatturgul Bala, Poskar,    Tchoont walliwar, Sehpora, Kagan and Chanduna in different blocks of the district.

The camps were attended by large number of farmers, artisans, traders and other locals.

The participants were apprised of the bank’s tailor-made schemes designed for the financial development of people belonging to every segment of economy.

RSETI Kupwara

Meanwhile, RSETI Kupwara conducted skill development programmes on Dress Designing and Tille-doozi for women. The programmes were attended by more than 60 candidates from different blocks of district Kupwara.

Lead District Manager Kupwara addressed the trainees highlighting the significance of RSETIs and emphasized upon the trainees to utilize their skills for self-employment.

Speaking at the valedictory session of the course, Director RSETI said, “The Bank has conceived of the RSETIs as entrepreneur feeders for the local economy and we have designed our courses accordingly with special focus on current market practices.”

Director Institute urged the trainees to avail the benefits of training for self-employment and secure future.
