SRINAGAR: J&K Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to its longstanding partnership with the J&K Police Department by renewing their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Under this agreement, J&K Bank will continue to serve as the preferred banking partner for the department, providing a wide range of banking services to its employees.
In a significant gesture of respect for the sacrifices made by the brave martyrs of J&K Police, the bank also signed a new MoU with the police department. This additional agreement grants favored client status to the children and next of kin of the martyrs within the J&K Police Department.
The renewal and signing of these agreements took place at the Police Headquarters in Srinagar, with MD & CEO Baldev Prakash and Director General Police Dilbag Singh endorsing both documents.
They were joined by esteemed officials, including Special DGP (Crime) A K Choudhary, ADGP (Hqtrs) Manish Kumar Sinha, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, Bank’s Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, General Managers Ashutosh Sareen, Narjay Gupta, Syed Rais Maqbool, and Syed Shafat Hussain Rufai, alongside IGPs, DIGs, SSPs, and other senior officers from both the Bank and the police department. ADGP (Jammu) Mukesh Singh also participated via video conferencing, along with other senior police officials from Jammu.
MD & CEO Baldev Prakash, while paying tribute to the martyrs of J&K Police, emphasised the pivotal roles played by both J&K Police and J&K Bank in fostering peace and progress in the region. He highlighted how the improved law and order situation in the Union Territory has contributed to its overall economic development.
Prakash also underscored the bank’s vital role in safeguarding public deposits and facilitating accessible and affordable financing for the people, enabling them to secure their livelihoods and manage their wealth effectively.
In a heartwarming move to honor the martyrs, he announced the new MoU, which extends customized banking schemes and services to the wards of J&K Police martyrs, offering them attractive benefits, concessions, and relaxations.
Regarding the renewal of the 2017 MoU, Prakash expressed his eagerness to further strengthen the mutually beneficial bond by enhancing the benefits and concessions for police personnel, with the renewed agreement aimed at taking their relationship to new heights.
Director General Police Dilbag Singh praised J&K Bank’s leadership for its efforts in enhancing benefits for police personnel and highlighted the similarities in the operations and reach of both institutions. He encouraged his staff to take advantage of the benefits offered by J&K Bank under the renewed agreement.
Speaking about the MoU for the wards of martyrs, DGP Dilbag Singh reaffirmed the police department’s commitment to support the families of the martyrs, ensuring better lives for those who tirelessly work for the peace and prosperity of the Union Territory and the nation as a whole.
In his welcome address, ADGP (Hqtrs) Manish Kumar Sinha praised both the Police and the Bank as crucial organisations in J&K and expressed gratitude to J&K Bank for its generous support to the Police Department. He acknowledged J&K Bank’s role as an engine of the UT’s economy, driving initiatives to usher in a new era of prosperity.
The Bank’s General Manager (Credit) Ashutosh Sareen highlighted the significance of the agreements, emphasising that these agreements have been the result of extensive deliberations and discussions.
He pointed out that the renewed MoU not only enhances the benefits and services enjoyed by J&K police personnel but also extends attractive benefits, concessions, and relaxations to the wards and next of kin of policemen who lost their lives in the line of duty.
