JKBOSE Class 12 Results: Areeza Javid Tops Arts, Anchal Parihar Leads Science

   

SRINAGAR: Areeza Javid of Green Valley Educational Institute, Ellahibagh Srinagar, topped the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) Class 12 Annual Regular Examination 2025 with 496 marks, scoring 99.2 per cent, in the faculty of Arts. She was followed by Shifa Qureshi of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Nowhatta Srinagar, who scored 495 marks (99 per cent).

In the Science stream, Anchal Parihar, a resident of Jammu, topped with 495 marks, followed by Jannat Shabir Rawa of SRM Welkin School, Sopore, and Sehrish Jehangir of Government Higher Secondary School, Bugam, both scoring 494 marks.

In the Commerce stream, Adiba, a student of Kashmir Harvard, secured the first position with 495 marks, followed by Tanzila Hamid and Zainab Bilal, both students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Amira Kadal, with 494 marks each.

In the Home Science stream, Shibra, a student of Government Higher Secondary School, Kohtibagh, secured the first position with 485 marks, followed by Arwa Mushtaq of the same school, who scored 483 marks.

Other high scorers included Fatimah Mudasir Moharkan of Women’s Educational Institute, Lal Bazar Srinagar, and Muzaina Tahir of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Amirakadal Srinagar – both scoring 494 marks (98.8 per cent). Dimple Kotach of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Amira Kadal, and Faieza Arshid of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ranibagh, Anantnag, both scored 493 marks (98.6 per cent), among others.

Girls outperformed boys both in top scores and in overall pass rates. The overall pass percentage stood at 74.83 per cent. A total of 1,03,308 students appeared for the examination across Jammu and Kashmir, with 77,311 declared successful.

Among the 51,591 girls who appeared, 40,097 passed, recording a pass percentage of 77.72 per cent. Out of 51,717 boys, 37,214 passed, registering a pass percentage of 71.95 per cent.

JKBOSE Chairperson commended the performance, particularly the consistent academic lead shown by female students.

A total of 30,622 students achieved distinction (75 per cent and above), 36,311 secured first division (60 per cent and above), and 10,304 passed with second division (48 per cent and above). Meanwhile, 25,027 students were placed in the reappear category, and 970 failed.

Examinations were conducted across 989 centres in the Union Territory.
