In a formal representation addressed to the Indian Ambassador in Tehran, the association said the incident involved Indian students who were assaulted by another student from the sixth semester, despite a prior complaint having already been lodged with the concerned hospital authorities. The association stated that the attack occurred despite official reporting, highlighting what it described as a serious lapse in ensuring campus discipline and student security.
According to the association, the affected students are under severe mental stress and fear for their personal safety. It said the incident has created an atmosphere of insecurity that is adversely impacting the academic and professional pursuits of Indian students studying at the university.
The All India Medical Students’ Association has urged the Indian High Commission to immediately take up the matter with the university administration and local authorities, ensure safety and protection of Indian students, and facilitate a fair and impartial enquiry into the incident. It has also demanded strict action against those responsible to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
The representation stressed that Indian students abroad look to Indian diplomatic missions as a vital support system and expressed hope that timely intervention would help restore safety, confidence and a sense of justice.
