SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Tuesday emphasised that Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) are an inseparable part of Jammu and Kashmir’s cultural and social fabric, reaffirming the government’s commitment to their dignified rehabilitation.
During a visit to Jagti Township in Nagrota, Choudhary inspected essential services, healthcare, education facilities, and other critical infrastructure. He directed senior officers to address residents’ grievances promptly, ensuring no delays in the delivery of services.
“We are intensifying efforts to provide an improved quality of life for Kashmiri Pandits, particularly the residents of Jagti Township. Our commitment to their rehabilitation remains steadfast,” the deputy Chief minister said.
Accompanied by the Relief Commissioner (Migrants), Director Health Services Jammu, Director General Floriculture, and other senior officials, Choudhary inspected healthcare services at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Jagti. He instructed the health department to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality medical care, an adequate supply of medicines, and infrastructure upgrades at the facility.
The deputy Chief minister also stressed the importance of strengthening education and water supply systems to meet the residents’ needs effectively. Addressing a gathering, he reiterated the government’s dedication to supporting the Kashmiri Pandit community through targeted initiatives, welfare schemes, and a robust support system.
