KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Kashmir for Maintenance Work

   

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various districts of the Valley this month to facilitate maintenance, reorientation, and upgradation works on 33 KV transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdowns are necessary to carry out technical operations, including reorientation of CTs, construction of new circuits, branch cutting, and stabilisation works, as well as full digitisation of grid operations.

On October 14, the 33 KV Sangam-II line will remain shut for reorientation works between 09:30 AM and 03:30 PM, affecting power supply to K-Koot, Panzgam, Saimooh, Hariparigam, Kaigam, Chakoora, Gulzarpora, Rakh Litter, Naina, Batpora, Khella, and adjoining areas. The same day, shutdowns will also impact Kulgam DH Pora, Kulgam Yaripora, Lisser Kokernag, and GIS Tengpora KP Bagh lines, affecting large parts of Kulgam, Anantnag, and Srinagar districts.

On October 15, power supply will remain affected in parts of Pulwama, Budgam, and Anantnag due to shutdowns on the Lassipora–Pulwama, Nowbugh–Nagam, Nowbugh–Chadoora, Kulgam Devsar, Lisser Dooru, and Rangreth–Doodhganga lines between 09:00 AM and 03:30 PM. Areas including Pulwama Town, Babhaar, Pinglena, Tahab, Kakawring, Charar-i-Sharief, Nagam, Kralpora, Devsar, and adjoining villages will experience outages.

On October 16, shutdowns on the Rawalpora Silkfactory, GIS Tengpora Narkara, Hiller Line, and Wanpoh–Qazigund circuits will affect parts of Srinagar, Anantnag, and Kulgam, including Silk Factory, Rambagh, Narkara, Gangbugh, Hiller, Qazigund, Vessu, and Kund.

Further scheduled outages are planned on October 19, 20, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30 across several 33 KV lines to facilitate construction, tree pruning, and stabilisation works. Areas affected include Pampore, Pulwama, Achabal, Shangus, Wanpoh, Sarnal, Mattan, and Gopalpora, among others.

KPDCL officials stated that the maintenance drive is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the region’s power infrastructure and ensure reliable electricity supply during the upcoming winter months. Consumers in affected areas have been advised to plan accordingly and cooperate during the scheduled shutdowns.
