SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday addressed the valedictory session of the five-day Orientation Programme at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, calling on students to become business leaders and thinkers who will shape India’s economic progress.

The Lieutenant Governor also inaugurated the Tejas Sports Complex on campus, which he said reflects IIM Jammu’s commitment to the holistic development of its students.
Congratulating the incoming batch of 474 students enrolled across various programmes including MBA, MBA in Healthcare & Hospital Management, Ph.D., and EMBA, the LG said, “I wish to see these young and bright minds as the business leaders of tomorrow who will help make India a developed country by 2047.”
Emphasising the need for inclusive growth, LG Sinha stated, “Future business leaders must focus on changing lives, securing private investment, accelerating industrial growth, and ensuring that no one is left behind.” He said their role will be vital in promoting economic activity and building a resilient private sector that supports national stability.
Referring to technological advancements, the LG said management students must blend technological innovation with modern business practices to enhance both the ease of doing business and the ease of living.
Highlighting Jammu and Kashmir’s emergence as a major hub of education and innovation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, LG Sinha commended IIM Jammu for its contributions to the education sector in the region.
He outlined the 5Cs—Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Communication, Creativity and Curiosity—as essential life skills for future business leaders, enabling them to adapt to the rapidly evolving global environment.
“Your leadership and problem-solving abilities will drive local entrepreneurship and social development through sustainable business models,” he added.
