Speaking at the Veer Savarkar International Impact Award ceremony organised by the High-range Rural Development Society (HRDS India) in New Delhi, Sinha said Savarkar’s ideals continued to guide the country’s progress.

Sinha praised HRDS India for what he described as an “extraordinary initiative” to highlight Savarkar’s role in the freedom movement and to restore his legacy in public consciousness. Paying tribute to the freedom fighter, he recalled Savarkar’s campaigns and “unparalleled contribution” to India’s independence struggle.

“Savarkar is a symbol of India’s success, strength, prosperity, resolve, dedication, sensitivity, simplicity, perseverance, culture and dreams. For him, India was never merely a piece of land but the centre of human civilisation,” Sinha said.

He added that the national movement driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Panch Pran’ would help fulfil Savarkar’s aspirations for the country. Sinha also called for efforts to counter “false narratives” to safeguard historical truth and national pride.

The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the award recipients, urging them to continue contributing to peace, progress and nation-building. He said the award underscored the need to reclaim India’s “ancient glory” and commit to achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

The event was attended by Swami Atma Nambi, President of HRDS India; S. Krishna Kumar, Chairman Emeritus; K.G. Venugopal, Vice President; Aji Krishnan, Founder-Secretary of HRDS India; and various dignitaries from across sectors.
