SRINAGAR: India Meteorological Department is recruiting Scientific Assistants and the window for applications is open till October 18, 2022.
The last date for online application fee payment which is Rs 100/- is October 20, 2022.
Candidates can apply online. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, ESM are exempted from the payment of fee. Fee once paid shall not be refunded.
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct an open competitive examination for recruitment tentatively in December 2022. Results will be declared by the Commission on its website.
There are about 990 vacancies including reservations for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD as per extant government orders. The post carries All India Service Liability (AISL) i.e., the candidate on selection may be asked to serve anywhere in the country. The pay scale for the post is Rs 35,400- Rs 1,12,400.
The candidate must have been born not earlier than October 19, 1992 and not later than October 17, 2004. However, there is age relaxation permissible beyond upper age limit (30 years) for candidates belonging to various categories.
To be eligible for this post, an applicant must have a bachelors degree in science (with physics as one of the subjects) or computer science or information technology or computer applications. They can alternatively have a diploma in electronics and telecommunication engineering from a recognized institution /university or equivalent.
Candidates should have Indian citizenship or should be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962 with an intention of permanently settling in India or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam.
