As directed by NN Vohra, Governor, Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, for all Yatra related arrangements being reviewed every 5 days, Navin K Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, today reviewed the Yatra arrangements with the Camp Directors via teleconferencing.
The CEO has informed that the Yatra so far has been running smoothly, and all essential arrangements have been working satisfactorily. He stated, “A total of 1, 42, 648 Yatris had Darshan at the Holy Cave Shrine during the first 10 days of the ongoing Yatra i.e. upto July 07 evening, at an average of about 14,264 Yatris per day.”
As per a statement the CEO has reiterated earlier directions regarding the effective maintenance of sanitation and cleanliness at all the Camps in the Yatra area and along both the Yatra routes, and ensuring proper disposal of all bio-degradable and non-bio-degradable wastes. He has directed the Camp Directors to ensure that cleaning is carried out on round the clock basis, besides launching special cleanliness drives in their respective Camps. While reviewing the functioning of Sewage Treatment Plants at Baltal and Nunwan Base Camps, he has expressed satisfaction at their performance.
While expressing sadness over the deaths of three pilgrims in the past 10 days of the ongoing pilgrimage, the CEO yet again urged the intending pilgrims to take adequate precautions while embarking on the pilgrimage. He advised the Yatris visiting the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji, to refrain from attempting to complete their pilgrimage in great hurry, as they have to undertake a very arduous trek through high mountains under adverse weather conditions. He urged them to immediately contact the nearest Medical Centres, in case they felt uneasy, to obtain timely medical attention. In this context, the CEO has also once again urged the intending pilgrims to strictly adhere to the advisory of Do’s and Don’ts issued by the Shrine Board for the Yatris visiting the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji.
Meanwhile, on account of heavy showers this morning, the CEO directed the stopping of the Yatris at the Access Control Gates from 4.45 a.m. and they were released at 7.45 a.m. from Domel and at8.15 a.m. from Chandanwari.
