Minister of State for Elections, Dr. Manohar Lal Monday informed the state legislative council that the complaints regarding reflection of non-state-subjects in the electoral rolls is under investigation and action as warranted under rules will be initiated adding that in district Leh 12 non-state-subjects and in Jammu names of five persons in Gandhi Nagar constituency have been deleted after continuous updating of the lists.
The Minister was replying to a question by Murtiza Ahmed Khan in the House.
While replying to a supplementary, the Minister said that the mechanism is already in place to file objections, corrections and shifting of names from one constituency to other with regard to the electoral rolls.
The Minister of State for Revenue, Ajaz Ahmed Khan while intervening in the discussion informed the House that a State Subject Commission has already been constituted to check the veracity of the State Subjects and has put in the recommendations action on the same will be taken.
