SRINAGAR: The National Health Mission (NHM) Jammu and Kashmir has recorded significant achievements in 2025 by strengthening healthcare delivery, expanding disease screening, enhancing critical care infrastructure and improving access to mental health and tele-consultation services across the Union Territory.
As per details, NHM JK played a pivotal role in improving public health outcomes through large-scale screening programmes, targeted interventions under national health missions and sustained focus on integrated healthcare services.
Under the PM TB Mukt Abhiyan, around 25 lakh people were screened for Tuberculosis across JK during the year.
Under Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) and ECRP-II, the civil structure of six 50-bedded Critical Care Blocks (CCBs) was completed, strengthening emergency and critical care preparedness.
Under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), targeting children in the 0–18 years age group, 27.27 lakh beneficiaries were screened in schools and Anganwadi centres across the Union Territory.
As part of the Tele-MANAS National Mental Health Programme, 1.37 lakh tele-consultations were conducted across JK, aimed at improving mental health support, particularly for youth.
Under e-Sanjeevani Tele-Consultation Services, 4.06 lakh consultations were provided through various health facilities, improving access to healthcare services in remote and border areas.
Under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD), 1.61 crore people were screened for Hypertension, Diabetes, Oral Cancer, Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer, out of which 7.5 lakh individuals were placed on treatment.
Under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), 244 health facilities across JK qualified for improved patient care services, while another 1,000 facilities are currently in the process of qualification, targeted to be completed by March 2026.
The achievements reflect NHM JK’s sustained commitment to strengthening healthcare systems, expanding outreach and improving health indicators across the Union Territory. (KNC)
