SRINAGAR: NHPC Limited, a Navratna enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has announced its Apprenticeship Training Programme for the year 2025, inviting online applications for a one-year training period. The last date for submitting applications is August 11, 2025. The programme is open to graduates, diploma holders, and ITI pass-outs across various technical and non-technical disciplines, and the monthly stipend offered ranges between Rs 12,000 and Rs 15,000 depending on the position and qualification.
A total of more than 300 slots have been announced, spread across NHPC offices and power stations located in Faridabad (Corporate Office), Chandigarh (Regional Office), Kishtwar, Uri, Chamba, Kullu, Leh, Kargil, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, and West Bengal. Some of the prominent roles available include Graduate Apprentice (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, and Electronics & Communication), Diploma Apprentice, Electrician, Fitter, Plumber, Welder, Draughtsman, Carpenter, Computer Operator, and support roles in HR, Finance, Law, PR, CSR, Rajbhasha, Nursing, Hospitality, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy.
At the Corporate Office in Faridabad alone, NHPC is offering 96 apprenticeship slots including 15 for HR Executives, 10 for Finance Executives, 4 for Law Executives, 4 for PR Executives, and 25 for Computer Operators. Other significant openings are available in NHPC’s regional offices and power stations such as BAIRA SIUL (Surangani, Chamba), CHAMERA-I (Khairi, Chamba), CHAMERA-III (Dharwala, Chamba), DULHASTI (Kishtwar, J&K), URI-II (Baramulla, J&K), CHUTAK (Kargil, Ladakh), NIMOO BAZGO (Leh, Ladakh), TANAKPUR (Champawat, Uttarakhand), and multiple power stations across Sikkim, Manipur, and Darjeeling in West Bengal.
To be eligible, applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age, possess the required educational qualifications for the discipline applied for, and be medically fit as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961. They are also required to produce a medical fitness certificate, and the physical fitness standards will be as per Schedule-II of the Apprentices Rule, 1992. The duration of the training will be one year, which may be extended up to two years under specific conditions as laid out in the Act and its rules.
Selected apprentices may be provided shared bachelor accommodation at the training location. In cases where accommodation is not provided, the trainee will receive an additional Rs 2,500 per month. Applicants must upload a copy of their apprenticeship registration or enrolment form from the NATS/NAPS portal along with scanned copies of educational certificates, proof of age (matriculation certificate), caste certificate (if applicable), and a recent passport-sized photograph with signature.
