SRINAGAR: The much-awaited Noorbagh-Qamarwai bridge in Srinagar, a project in progress for nearly 13 years, is finally approaching its conclusion, as per officials from the Roads Building and Bridges (R&B) department.
Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, Sajad Ahmad Naqeeb, said that the project, which was marred by delays, is now expected to be completed by June this year.
Speaking about the project’s 13-year timeline, Naqeeb said they faced the primary challenge of rehabilitating shopkeepers in the area, which has now been addressed.
“The construction is in full swing, and we hope the long-awaited project will be completed by June of this year,” the Chief Engineer said.
Originally slated for completion within four years, the R&B Department faced multiple deadline extensions.
