SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Border Security Force, Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav said on Monday that ‘Operation Sindoor’ will continue as long as what he termed Pakistan’s “misadventures” persist along the Line of Control. He maintained that forces remain on heightened alert to counter any provocation from across the frontier.
Addressing the BSF Annual Press Meet 2024–2025 at Humhama, Yadav said the operation is still in force to curb cross-border infiltration and dismantle terror infrastructure operating close to the Line of Control. He insisted the force is “fully prepared” to respond to any attempt from across, a claim frequently made amid recurring incidents along the border.
The IG said infiltration patterns have shifted, with new routes emerging in recent months. According to him, coordination between the BSF and Army has enabled the interception of several such attempts, though he offered no specific figures during the briefing. He said the intelligence grid is “strong” and that inputs are being acted upon swiftly.
Yadav also raised concern over what he described as an escalating push of narco-terror from across the Line of Control. He called it a “larger internal threat” aimed at Kashmiri youth and at sustaining terror networks.
He added that some launching pads across the border have reportedly been moved deeper into Pakistani territory following sustained Indian strikes. Surveillance, he said, continues at an elevated level, with forces maintaining operational readiness. (KNO)
