Terming Syed Ali Geelani as “a symbol of Kashmiri resistance” Pakistan administered Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed on Tuesday evening telephoned Hurriyat (G) chairman and invited him to visit Muzafarabad. PaK Prime Minister assured him that his government and the people would never disappoint their Kashmiri brethren.
Pakistan administered Prime Minister called Syed Ali Geelani after leaders of both the factions of Hurriyat Conference have been invited to Islamabad on government level.
Hurriyat Conference(G ) spokesman Ayaz Akbar confirmed that PaK prime minister called and invited Geelani.
“As a (common) Kashmiri and an elected leader of this side of Kashmir, I assure you that we will never leave you alone or disappoint you. We are with you until our common goal is achieved,” spokesman said that PaK Prime minister told Geelani.
The telephonic conversation between the two leaders was in the wake of Geelani’s address to Muzaffarabad-based media in which he had said the ongoing activities in Pakistan and PaK regarding Kashmir were tantamount to rubbing salt in the wounds of Kashmiris.
PaK Premier, Majeed told Geelani that he had allocated funds for the construction of two monuments of Kashmiris who have laid down their lives during the ongoing movement and the construction would begin in next three months.
“We have planned to build one monument of the martyrs of Kashmir along the Muzaffarabad-Srinagar Road and another in Sialkot (Punjab),” PaK premier informed Geelani.
Earlier this year, Geelani had suggested Majeed through a letter to build a monument in the memory of deceased Kashmiris when an attempt of Geelani to build the same in Eidgah Srinagar was foiled by police.
Earlier during the day speaking to Muzafarabad based media by telephone, Geelani recalled the “mass slaughter of Muslims” in Jammu in 1947 and said the situation in Kashmir had not changed since the past six decades.
