Mirwaiz Umer Farooq led Hurriyat has strongly denounced the police raid by police and government forces on the house of Muzaffar Ahmad Qasba of Rainawari area of Shehar-e-Khas Srinagar to arrest his wife Shaista for participating in protests.
The spokesman termed it as a desperate and shameless attempt on the part of government that even women are being persecuted and harrassed for expressing their political aspirations. The spokesman also condemned the authorities for use of brute force against a women’s procession in the locality protesting the raid and attempted arrest.
The spokesman hailed the courage and determination of the mourners who were carrying the dead body of 16-year-old Qaiser Hameed toward his ancestral graveyard when the trigger-happy and blood-thirsty forces went berserk , firing teargas shells and pellets at the mourners did not let the body of the martyr fall from their shoulders. The spokesman said this incident should open the eyes of the Government of India and their local collaborators in Jammu Kashmir that despite being at the receiving end of such violence and inhumanity which words fail to describe, people are committed and passionate toward the ongoing resistance movement and will not rest till they achieve their right to self-determination.
Terming the termination of government employees, their arrests and framing in fake cases for supporting their political movement as dictatorial APHC said that forcing teachers and even female teachers and other staff members to work as Chowkidars guarding government schools was ridiculous and condemned it in strong words.
Spokesman said that peaceful protest demonstrations held in Mazhama, Kanihama, Tapper Pattan, Bonigam Qazigund were dealt with stern force where residents were beaten homes damaged by breaking window panes and frames the APHC termed them as unfortunate and condemned the government for unleashing this barbaric violence.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, Hurriyat said a high-level delegation of Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil comprising Muhammad Sidiq Hazaar and Mursaleem Mauzam visited the fire affected village of Sukhnoi in Kishtwar district and distributed rice, blankets and other essential food items among the affected families.
Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) District President Kishtwar, Abdul Gani Shah and other office bearers were also part of the delegation.
The delegation conveyed the message of sympathy and solidarity of the Mirwaiz with the affected families and promised them all out support of Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil who in turn thanked the Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil delegation and the Mirwaiz for their help and support.
