Scheduled Power Shutdown to Affect Multiple Areas Across Kashmir Next Week

   

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns in Srinagar and parts of South Kashmir to facilitate maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, and evacuation of power from the GIS Harwan station.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33KV Burzhama Tap of the 33KV Habak-Zakura-Burzhama line will be observed on May 27, May 29, and June 1. As a result, the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Burzhama will remain off during these dates from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM, affecting electricity supply to areas including Burzhama, Mulfaq, Gasoo, Chaterhama, Khimber, and nearby localities.

In a separate development, the 33KV Cheshmashahi-BB Cantt Tap line will also undergo shutdown on May 28 from 10:00 AM to 04:30 PM for the maintenance of the overhead Centaur backup line. Power supply to BB Cantt will be affected during this period.

Similarly, the 33KV Badampora-Kurhama line will be shut on May 28 to facilitate repairs on a 33KV isolator and stabilisation works at the Kurhama Receiving Station. The resulting outage will impact supply to the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Kurhama, Dab, GCET, and Sainik School, thereby affecting Kurhama, Youngpora, Dab, Baroosa, Baba Salina, Wakura, Rabitar, Kondbal, and the surrounding areas.

On May 29, a shutdown is planned on the 33KV Alasteng-Nagbal line for upgradation and stabilisation. This will impact 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Alasteng, Nagbal, Gadoora, and Tulbagh from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM, affecting power supply in Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Fatehpora, Chunduna, Shairpathri, Pandach, and other adjoining areas.

Additionally, on the same day, the shutdown of the 33KV Alasteng-Zakura line (under STD-1st) will result in outages at Gulabagh, Ahmad Nagar, and Umarhair Receiving Stations. Consumers in Pathan Colony, Mir Mohalla, 90 Ft Road, Nowbugh, and Khalmullah will experience disruption between 10:00 AM and 04:00 PM.

To facilitate the upgradation of the Wanpoh SICOP line from 0.1 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR, a shutdown has been scheduled for May 28, May 29, and June 2. This will impact 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpara, Veer, and Cheeniwadder. Areas including Jablipora, Srigufwara, and adjacent regions will face outages from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on the specified dates.
