During his Friday sermon, he said that November 05 is the day when innocent Muslims were martyred in Jammu in 1947.

“In order to remember the martyrs of Jammu, Shoora has decided to organize special prayers tomorrow,” he added.

“Unfortunately,” he said, “tomorrow is the day when our brothers were mercilessly killed in Jammu and to remember them Shoora Committee has decided to organize Qu’ran Khawani in their memory.”

He asked people to take part in the prayers for the eternal peace of the martyred.

The Imam further said that Shoora committee Kishtwar will hold a meeting of various Imams of Jamia Masjids of Chenab valley on 13th of this month for discussing various issues and problems faced by the Muslim community in Chenab valley.

He referred to various decisions taken by the Shoora committee few days back and reiterated its decision of banning “musical nights” in marriages and asked the people to distance themselves from anti-Islamic activities.

“What is prohibited in Islam – we must keep distance from such activities and it is our collective responsibility to stop vulgarity in the society,” said Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar in his Friday sermon.

He warned the people against the growing drug menace.

“SSP Kishtwar showed me some photographs wherein some youth consume drugs in the form fluid; I could only express my disappointment,” he said urging people to check such things and keep an eye on activity of their children.

“It is a collective responsibility of all the people to fight against drug menace,” he said.

“Whatever decision will be taken by the Shoora Committee for the welfare of the community will be brought into the notice of the people and same will be implemented in letter and spirit,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kichloo expressed his concern over the way eight person who belonged to Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were killed in “fake” encounter in Madhya Pradesh last week.

He demanded exemplary punishment for those responsible for the killings of these persons.

“Bhopal encounter is fake and the guilty involved in this fake encounter should be brought to book,” Kichloo demanded.
