SRINAGAR: A 3-Day “State Level Workshop of Master Resource Persons for the conduct of Science Melas” organized by Society for Promotion of Environmental Awareness in Kashmir (SPEAK) and Science Teachers Association J&K, concluded on Monday at Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) Pampore.

The spokesman said that Professor  Mushtaq A. Siddiqui, Vice-Chancellor, IUST Awantipora, who was Chief Guest on the valedictory function stressed on trained teachers to implement the ideas and innovations learned in the programme with local modifications. He asked them to take the idea of activity-based teaching-learning to the grass root level and this will develop scientific temper among the school children that in turn would culminate into future scientists in our society.

In his address to officers, participating Teachers and students, Jt. Director (South), School Education Department, Dr. Nasir Ahmad expressed his pleasure that such a wonderful programme has been organized here with the active collaboration of Vigyan Prasar DST (Government of India). He appreciated the role of Science Teachers Association, Vigyan Prasar, SPEAK and other collaborating agencies and assured the audience that many such events shall be organized in near future in collaboration with Science Teachers Association J&K.

In her address, the Chairperson Science Teachers Association reiterated that Science Teachers Association is committed to bringing about a positive change vis-à-vis science education in the state. She asked the participants to come forward and play their role in bringing about Science Popularization in the state of J&K.
