SRINAGAR: Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat, on Saturday directed officers to maintain close synergy and real-time coordination to effectively respond to any emerging security challenges.
Chairing a hybrid security review meeting at Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir, DGP Prabhat commended the dedication of all security formations. He lauded their professionalism and commitment in operating under challenging terrains, urging personnel to remain vigilant and adopt innovative approaches to address evolving security dynamics.
An official said the meeting was attended by officers from JK Police, Army, BSF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, CISF and intelligence agencies. Among the attendees were GOC 15 Corps Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, GOC 9 Corps Lt Gen Rajan Sharawat, SDG Coordination SJM Gillani, ADsG of CRPF, Armed Police and CID, IsGs of BSF, CRPF, ITBP, and officers from Kashmir/Jammu Zones, Security, Traffic, and Railways.
The deliberations primarily focussed on the ongoing Amarnath Yatra and the prevailing security scenario.
“At the outset, participating officers briefed the chair on overall security challenges across the Union Territory. A detailed assessment was carried out on the current security situation and the coordinated efforts of various forces to ensure peace in Jammu and Kashmir,” the official said.
The DGP reviewed the multi-tiered security arrangements and emphasised seamless coordination among all agencies. He also discussed the contributions of the Army, along with other allied agencies, in maintaining a robust counter-infiltration grid and supporting civil authorities in sensitive areas.
“Their active collaboration with J&K Police, CAPFs, and intelligence agencies in high-risk zones was appreciated, particularly in securing Yatra convoys and strengthening area domination to ensure a peaceful and incident-free environment,” he added. (KNO)
