The LG highlighted the contribution of the dairy sector to the rural economy and its role in providing livelihoods to a large population associated with the sector. He emphasized that the dairy sector continues to play a vital role in the agricultural GDP and that such deliberations will energize research and extension efforts and address modifications required for livestock management and productivity enhancements. He also mentioned that Jammu and Kashmir is strengthening its ties with other countries and states to transform the livestock and dairy sector and improve farmers’ remuneration.

“We are taking reformative measures to unlock the huge untapped potential of Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, and allied sectors,” he added. The LG stated that fodder production, improving wool quality, and addressing issues like inbreeding are other focus areas of the government. He assured that the UT government is committed to creating new avenues for farmers and youth entrepreneurs.
