SRINAGAR: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, convened a meeting on Monday to review the arrangements at Asia’s largest Tulip Garden for visitors, a DIPR statement said.

The Tulip Garden remains open for around one month as the life tulips is not more than 15-17 days.

The meeting was attended by the Director of Floriculture, SSP Traffic Srinagar, Joint Commissioner SMC, officers from the Tourism department, and representatives from Srinagar Smart City Limited.

During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding the opening of the garden for visitors, traffic management, parking facilities, sanitation, cleanliness drive, pothole repair, online ticketing, and other arrangements.

This year, the Asia’s Largest Tulip Garden, situated at the foothills of Zabarwan Hills, will showcase 17 lakh flowers of different varieties and will be open to visitors from March 23.

Addressing the officers, the Div Com instructed the concerned officer of Floriculture to facilitate online ticketing and install QR Code scanning facilities at various locations for the convenience of tourists. Additionally, he recommended the use of colorful lights to enhance the visual appeal of the garden.

Furthermore, he directed the SMC to conduct a sanitation and cleanliness drive at the garden and ensure the availability of separate mobile toilet facilities for both ladies and gentlemen.

Moreover, he instructed the concerned authorities to repair potholes on the roads leading to the garden.

The meeting highlighted that the department has added 4 Kanals of additional parking space at the garden to accommodate the increasing number of visitors.
