SRINAGAR: Prof Neerja Matoo formally released the English version of Prof Hari Krishna Kaul’s book For Now It Is Night. The book comprises 17 of his best stories that Harper Collins published earlier this year.
The well-attended book release function was hosted by Parsa’s in Srinagar on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
The stories were translated by four Kashmir writers including Kalpana Raina, who is the late writer’s niece, Tanveer Ajsi, Gowhar Yaqoob and Gawhar Fazli. Kalpana and Ajsi were part of the event that was moderated by Fayaz Dilbar.
After the event was over, Dilbar, Ajsi and Kalpana spoke to Kashmir Life detailing the initiative and the idea about how to take the story forward. The fascinating part of the conversation was when the trio had gone to trace the home where the late story writer lived.
