Over a dozen people, including Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, have been wounded in clashes in Nowshera of Rajouri district of Jammu on Saturday.

Reports said that DC Rajouri Shahid Iqbal was hit with a bottle in his head when he was negotiating with protesters.

Clashes have intensified in the area post government’s order to commission additional deputy commissioners to the area who are demanding separate district status, reports added.

Police used tear gas to suppress the protestors who responded by pelting them with stones.

Reports said four cops including a police officer and ten civilians have been injured in the clashes.
