NEW DELHI: The Attari-Wagah border crossing between India and Pakistan was completely shut on Thursday following a week of heavy traffic as people from both sides rushed to cross over. This came after the Union government ordered all Pakistani citizens with short-term visas to leave India in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, sources confirmed.

No one crossed the border in either direction on Thursday, as the crossing was fully closed, according to two sources.
On Wednesday, 125 Pakistani nationals left India through the Attari-Wagah border, bringing the total number of Pakistanis who have left the country over the past seven days to 911. The border had seen a significant surge in traffic as people attempted to leave after the Union government’s directive for all Pakistani citizens with short-term visas to exit India following the attack.
