SRINAGAR: The Special Crime Wing (SCW) Kashmir of Crime Branch Jammu Kashmir has filed a chargesheet in a multi-lakh rupee job fraud case against three individuals accused of duping people on the promise of securing government employment, officials said.
According to a spokesperson, the chargesheet has been submitted before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, in FIR No. 09/2019 under Sections 201, 419, 420, 468, 471 and 120-B RPC against Fayaz Ahmad Khan of Maloora Shalteng, Srinagar, Showkat Ahmad Shah of Shanzipora Handwara, and Owais Ahmad Rather of Shalteng Khwaja Bagh.
The case originated from complaints lodged by residents of Pulwama, who alleged that the accused collected substantial sums of money from them and their relatives on the false promise of providing government jobs.
Investigations revealed that the accused were part of a criminal conspiracy in which they posed as influential officials and issued forged appointment orders purportedly linked to the Forest Department, which were later found to be fake.
The spokesperson said the accused allegedly collected cash payments under the guise of “backdoor” job appointments. The case has now been submitted to the competent court for judicial proceedings.
Authorities have urged the public to remain cautious of such frauds and to report any suspicious activities to the Senior Superintendent of Police, SCW Kashmir (Crime Branch JK).
