SRINAGAR: On the occasion of Nauroz, leaders across Jammu and Kashmir extended their heartfelt greetings to the people, highlighting the festival’s cultural and spiritual significance while expressing hopes for peace, prosperity, and communal harmony.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah conveyed warm wishes, describing Nauroz as a symbol of renewal, hope, and harmony. “This festival marks the arrival of spring, bringing new life to nature and inspiring people to embrace positivity, peace, and prosperity,” he said. He urged people to use the occasion to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, compassion, and mutual respect.
The Chief Minister further emphasised that Nauroz has been an integral part of Kashmir’s rich heritage, celebrated with traditional enthusiasm and devotion. He expressed his hope that the festival would bring happiness and prosperity to every household.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also extended his greetings, wishing for peace, prosperity, and happiness for all. “On the auspicious occasion of Navroz, I convey my heartiest greetings and best wishes to everyone. May this festival inspire us towards righteous living,” his message read.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq greeted the people, expressing his hopes that the festival would usher in peace and prosperity across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
Other senior NC leaders, including Ali Muhammad Sagar, Dr Mustafa Kamal, Shammi Oberoi, Nasir Aslam Wani, Tanvir Sadiq, and MPs Mian Altaf Ahmad and Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, also extended their best wishes to the public.
Minister for Health and Education, Sakeena Itoo, also extended her warm wishes, stating that Nauroz holds great cultural and religious significance in Jammu and Kashmir. She expressed her hope that the festival would foster harmony and togetherness, praying for peace, progress, and prosperity in the region.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri greeted the people, wishing them good health, peace, and prosperity on the festive occasion.
