The project, executed by the Estates Department, is aimed at strengthening government housing infrastructure in the Kashmir Valley and forms part of efforts to improve residential facilities for employees.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister inspected the newly constructed flats, including 2BHK and 3BHK units, and also visited the canteen and mess facilities. He was briefed by senior officials of the Estates Department regarding ongoing and proposed housing projects.

The event was attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Pampore Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi, Additional Chief Secretary Estates Shaleen Kabra, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Basharat Qayoom, Director Estates Ashwini Kumar, and other senior officials and engineers.

Officials said the completion of the housing complex is expected to improve accommodation availability for government employees and ease housing constraints in the region. The project is also linked to the restoration of the annual Darbar Move, which has increased the need for residential facilities for employees stationed between Jammu and Srinagar.

The quarters are expected to benefit Darbar Move employees, many of whom have faced accommodation challenges in recent years, by reducing dependence on private housing and improving living conditions.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said his government remains committed to providing adequate family accommodation to employees. He said strengthening employee welfare is a priority and that residential infrastructure will be expanded in phases across Jammu and Kashmir.

He added that timely execution and proper maintenance of public infrastructure projects are essential to ensure long-term utility of such facilities.
