In a post on X, he said, “The Indian National Congress reiterates its demand for an all-party meet chaired by the PM and for a special session of Parliament for a full discussion on Pahalgam, Operation Sindoor, and the ceasefire announcements made from Washington DC first and then subsequently by the Governments of India and Pakistan”.
Party general secretary Jairam Ramesh, in a series of posts on X, raised questions over the nature of the agreement and whether it signalled a shift in India’s long-standing policy on third-party involvement in talks with Pakistan. He asked if New Delhi had reopened diplomatic channels with Islamabad.
The demand came after India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire across land, air, and sea, following four days of hostilities.
