SRINAGAR: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Thursday inaugurated the Jammu and Kashmir Security Operations Centre (JK SOC), aimed at strengthening the Union Territory’s cyber security infrastructure.
The facility has been established to provide round-the-clock monitoring, threat detection and incident response to protect critical government digital infrastructure and sensitive data from cyber threats.
Speaking on the occasion, Dulloo said that with the rapid digitisation of government services, ensuring robust cyber security has become essential. He noted that the centre will act as a key hub for safeguarding digital assets and ensuring secure and seamless delivery of e-governance services.
The JK SOC is equipped with advanced tools for real-time threat intelligence, vulnerability assessment and security analytics. It will also work in coordination with national agencies, including CERT-In, for effective management of cyber incidents.
Senior Director, NIC, Anil Kumar Sharma presented an overview of the centre’s functions and capabilities during the event.
Additional Chief Secretary (Financial Commissioner) Revenue Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary Home Chandraker Bharti, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, Secretary IT Piyush Singla, Director General NIC VTV Ramana, CEO Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency Mahima Madan, and SIO NIC JK J S Modi were among the officials present.
