SRINAGAR: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Wednesday appreciated the efforts of doctors and other health care providers across Kashmir for tacking with the COVID-19 pandemic despite being away from their families.
President DAK, Dr Suhail Naik said doctors and other health care providers despite being overstretched and overburdened have continued their services to people.
“We appreciate everyone, the health department, doctors, paramedics, sanitary staff, drivers and other allied staff dealing with the coronavirus patients amid lockdown,” he said.
Naik said they appreciate the health care workers for sustaining online consultation, immunization, child health, COVID and non-COVID services, emergency and maternity services, testing, tracking, surveillance, and monitoring people.
The doctor’s body salutes their efforts and relentless services. But people are advised to strictly follow health the advisories and guidelines.
“Our doctors and paramedics leave no stone unturned and educate people day night about this invisible threat and preventive measures. Saving a single life is saving humanity and we will never let down our people,” he said.
Naik thanked people for their continuous cooperation and support in maintaining social distancing and other precautionary measures for containing the virus.
“We understand that people face difficulties in this situation, but winning this war against the coronavirus virus is not possible without their full participation. People should also support for warriors of the health sector,” he said.
DAK said health care staff is working tirelessly and selflessly at the frontlines amid coronavirus pandemic as they have put their lives at risk at a time when they care, monitor and protect those in need.
Naik said it is high time that “We as a society should appreciate our health heroes.”
He said frontline health workers have proved their dedication in demanding conditions of Covid-19, flood, natural disasters, and armed conflict in the valley.
“Dozens of our doctors, nurses, drivers, paramedics were infected by Covid-19 while delivering their professional services. We at DAK are with them at this time,” he said.
It also said that the healthcare staff working in difficult areas like red zones, airports, isolation wards, ICUs, quarantine centres are doing extraordinary work.
DAK assured that they won’t compromise with the health care services while rendering their services to people whatsoever health crisis are there.
The association said so far 5406 patients have been infected due to coronavirus while 65 have died in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Of the total cases 2914 patients have recovered till date that was possible with the tireless services of health care providers,” it said.
