Thousands of people participated in a conference that was organized by Markazi Jamia Masjid Noorpora Tral to express support to the ongoing pro-freedom movement in Kashmir.
The call for ‘Noorpora Chalo’ was forwarded by the Jamia Masjid management while people from hundreds of adjoining villages rushed to the area to participate in the conference that was presided by Imam Jamia Masjid Noorpora Maulana Bashir Ahmed. Advocate Ghulam Nabi Shaheen participated on behalf of Hurriyat Conference while others who were present on the occasion included Sajad Ahmed Hamdani, Fayaz Ahmed Falai, Bashir Ahmed Bandh and Molvi Abdul Rashid Sofi.
The speakers urged upon international community to take note of the “human right violations committed by government forces in Kashmir and impress upon India to settle the long pending Kashmir problem permanently.”
Eyewitnesses told CNS that a resolution was passed on the occasion and it was reiterated that people will follow the program extended by Resistance leadership from time to time. The resolution reads, “The present Kashmir freedom struggle can’t be suppressed through force and torture. It is people’s movement who want Kashmir issue to be solved under UN Resolution. People demand plebiscite and India can’t ignore this demand for a longer time now. We appeal international community to break their silence and come forward to get the issue resolved.”
“We appeal those youth who enforce shutdown not to harass common people. Those who attack ambulances, harass needy can’t be our friends but the agents of India,” resolution reads adding that people of Tral have decided to form human chain and take food on the streets and roads of the town on the day (Wednesday/Thursday) when India Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be present in Pakistan to attend SAARC conference.
The speakers urged upon people to follow the program of Resistance leaders in letter and spirit.
During the conference glorious tributes were paid to militant commander Burhan Wani and other militants who lost their lives in the ongoing protests.
