The Union Government on Sunday reviewed the Kashmir situation as there is no let in protests and shutdown.

Reports reaching here said that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Minister of State in the PMO Jitendra Singh met in New Delhi and discussed the prevailing situation in the Kashmir Valley.

At least 71 civilians have been killed and several thousand others injured by the forces during the mass protests triggered by the killing of popular militant commander Burhan Wani on July 08, 2016 in Bemdoora area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad district.

Notably, Rajnath who was in Srinagar had announced that Delhi will send an-all party delegation to Kashmir.

Today’s meeting discussed about the visit of the all-party delegation to Kashmir and possible dates, reports said. The all-party delegation is likely to visit the state in the first week of September.

On Saturday, J&K Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi an discussed Kashmir for over 45-minutes and on Sunday morning, PM Modi referred to Kashmir in his monthly ‘Man Ki Baat’.

Reports claimed that after the meeting was over, Jitendra Singh refused to divulge the details. However, he said, “Rajnath Singh is a senior leader and we have come for ‘Margdarshan’ (guidance).”

The Prime Minister said in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address that “any life lost in Kashmir, whether of any youth or any security personnel, is country’s own loss.”

“‘Ekta’ (unity) and ‘Mamata’ (affection) was the crux of all interactions I had recently on Kashmir situation,” he said.
